Plum and spinach smoothie
This recipe comes from box scheme member Jodie Abrahams, who says smoothies are delicious, easy to digest and are a great way to pack more fruit and veg into your diet. This vibrant green smoothie is rich in antioxidants, fibre and iron. The almond milk and almond butter add a nutty creaminess too. Plums and spinach are both high in anti-oxidants, which help protect our cells and tissues from free radical damage. Vitamin C helps us absorb iron, making plums and spinach an ideal combination. Serves 2.
Ingredients
- 1 banana
- 3 plums
- Large handful of spinach
- 1 tbs almond butter
- 1 ½ cups almond milk
Method
Wash plums and spinach. Roughly chop banana and plums and add to blender with other ingredients. Blend until smooth and enjoy straight away.
